Smoke Art

Smoke and its Photoshop variety seem to have become more and more a media of choice for artistic expression. Artists inherently like smoke for its flux and dynamic properties, and the public seem to enjoy asking the perennial question "What were they smoking?" when seeing a radical and challenging piece of art.
Today, we'll feature some examples of "smoke art", and marvel at how such an elusive substance can be possibly herded into fascinating shapes.

Excellent Installation

Last summer, Artist Felice Varini turned the mountainous Swiss village of Vercorin into a wide reaching work of art. While the town’s traditional architecture is a thing of beauty in itself, his installation of Cercle et Suite D’éclats transformed it with contemporary creativity. Using geometric formulas and precise measurement, Varini covered the town with carefully placed metallic paint. If a viewer stands in one exact vantage point, the village is perfectly painted with circles spanning its width. Stand from any other perspective, you’ll miss the entire amazing point of Felice Varini’s art.
